Although originally announced back in 2004, this is still an innovation that truly shows that there is always a different and possibly better way of doing things.

Michelin have always been an innovative company and, whilst there are still problems to be resolved in terms of noise and heat dissipation at higher speeds, the concept of a tyre that cannot have a blow out has obvious safety and reliability advantages for a number of applications, not the least of which would be for certain military vehicles, construction vehicles and other low-speed applications.

Resilient Technologies are also working on a non-pneumatic tyre and believe that they have potentially solved the heat issue, but it is still likely that we are a few years away from this innovative product being widely available.
